Engine or Fuel System

My 01 Sport Trac has limited power. At full throttle, you can't get above three on the tach. Fuel pump seems to be working. At full throttle, the truck vibrates badly. Thanks for any help. Candi

Like Big D suggested in the other post. It sounds like the governor. Mine does the same thing. But when you are driving, you can go well above 3 on the tach. Hope it helps.

its the Governor... when in drive you should eaily get above 3k

Hey, I appreciate the replies. When driving, it still won't go above three on the tach. We changed the fuel filter and plugs and wires...no success. It runs fine in lower speed but as soon as you acceerate, it has a loss of power (wants to die) and gets worse as you drive. Thanks for any help. Candi
