engine swap

i believe i have asked this before but not sure will a 06 4.0 out of a mustang be a direct swap into a 01 sport trac and will the 01 computer work on the 06 motor i do know that the 06 4.0 has drive by wire and varible timing , the 01 throttle body i think will bolt up or the whole intake, what would need to be done does anyone know thanks

The intake manifold is different... Not sure what else. Out of curiosity: Why do you want to install a Mustang 4.0?

From the cylinder heads down it is the same engine......

as stated the throttle, computer, and intake are different...



As for the intake fitting, It should but remember the mustang intake is designed for top end HP as the truck intake is torque....



the drive by wire stuff should be able to be converted, but it may be easier to stay withe the ST intake for computer and torque..
