well I think I 've had enough of my st and it's reliability issues, have an 02 with 38,000 miles, every week it's something different, just had rear shocks installed, still have the timing whine , horrible brakes, been squealing since dec 04, trans problems, etc,etc

it's worse than my 97 ranger. thinking about trading it in for import pick up. st died on me friday, just left work, had the a/c on first selection, rsdio on, was going about 25 truck went dead, almost got in accident, started back up, same thing happened on busy interstate ?, owe 10,000 on it, really don't know why I should keep it

Sounds like a lemon. See if you can trade it in for what you owe on something new....any vehicle that starts causing me significant problems and costing me lots of money in repairs below 70K miles, IMHO, is a lemon and needs to hit the bricks.

I wouldn't blame you with all those problems. Just remember, you can get a lemon from any manufacturer. I traded a '93 Toyota Tacoma, double cab, Pre-runner fro my '94 Trac. The Toyota was a nightmare. It spent a great deal of time in the shop. Sure it was under warranty, but what a pain in the butt!

Sorry Dave, everyones great fear! did you buy it new? Thats rough owing 10k because that means to get your money out, someone else is going to get hammered, even if you trade it in. Maybe try one last time at a good private shop and see how it goes......feel for ya.

Have you replaced the fuel filter yet? If it gets really dirty then it could cause the truck to DIE on you at the most inconvenient time. Definitely should be done before you hit 40k miles. You can also clean the IAC valve yourself, it's fairly easy and there is a project on how to do it. That helps with keeping the engine from stalling out too.
