Ever wonder what a bad wheel bearing looks like?

I think this may be what was causing my vibration and grinding noise...what do you think?

Oh, and does anyone have a diagram of the way the rotor/bearing assembly all goes back together :D Thanks!

NM, found it!

It goes back together the opposite way it came apart. Not trying to be funny here; but that is exactly the way many shop manuals explain the assembly process. It will tell you in detail how to remove an item and then simply say to assemble in reverse order. Don't know about Ford shop manuals. The point here is always remember how you take something apart because there might not be any assembly instructions.

Wow!! Iam amazed that your wheel didnt sieze up. Your definitly going to need a new rotor hub assy..

Bill, I have the FOMOCO shop manual on my PC, I found the diagram I needed and it's printing out currently.

I hope I won't need a new rotor, the bearing didn't even scratch the inside of the racer (which did seize to the rotor and I'm currently working on removing). I'm about to go get the rotors turned and see if they can remove the racer, if they can't, then I may need new rotors (which I would have had if I had known the eBay seller shipped the wrong ones back in January).

Jeff,,The race usually siezes to the hub from spining..A new race will very possibly do the same in a hub that gets damaged that way..Been there done that..

The race is normally pressed into the rotor hub, the cage broke off that bearing and all the rollers were lost....

Flip the rotor over and you can catch the back of it with a screw driver or race driver and you can hammer it out...

I DO NOT recommend you hammering in the new bearing race, but you can if you had to...

Pressing it in is the way to go..

Have seen that before, Normally under hard braking, racing, wheel spacers Ect.....

Which I know Jeff doesn't do any of...:lol::lol::lol::lol:

If you do a search, I also posted how to properly adjust the load on the front bearing.

Well, my rotors were worn too far to be turned, so I had to get new ones. In the new ones, the racers are already pressed in :D

Hope to be up and running again by this evening...
