True duel on a gen 1 is not possible. Depending on the muffler you can get a duel outlet. You will need a muffler with 2 1/4" inlet and 2 or 2 1/4" dual out. I would go with 2" out. Easier to run around the left side. Also mantain some low end backpressure.

Around me (Houston). Looking at $250 to $300, depending on tips and muffler used.

Check out HeartThrob dual exhuast from JCWhitney, cheap and I've heard them on Ranger's before, sound prettu good. I have a Flowmaster 40 Series 3"in/dual 2.5" out with fabbed tailpipes I made myself. Also have Random Technology Stainless Y-Pipe and High Flow Cat and most people ask how I put a V8 in a Sport Trac until I open the hood and see the 4.0 Job2 V6. Bassani makes a dual setup but expensive as hell though.

I have seen a true dual on a Gen1. I don't remember who it was and I seem to remember him saying you didn't want to know how much it cost him. The previous recommendations are good.

The main problem with putting true duals on a Gen 1 is that the fuel tank is in the way. As far as I know, the dual systems available use a single-in dual-out muffler.

Oops, just checked, that was on a Gen2. I'm slipping lately.

:supercool:

I also have the R/T Y-pipe/Cat into a FM Delta Flow 40 single-out exhaust and get the same question all the time. Had a guy in a ZR-1 Corvette ask me at a stoplight if it was a V8!

Same problem really, just that the fuel tank is on the other side plus you have to snake TWO pipes around the IRS which makes it even more difficult.

Paul got true dual exhaust on his Gen2. Link below.

Gen1, dunno, but I trust you. I know that even if it could be done, it's more work than I'd put into it.
