This is for the computer gurus out there. I'm trying to transfer my music library from one computer to another. I burned about 600 songs that I had on my original computer onto 4 MP3 discs thinking that I would be able to rip the music from the MP3 disc onto my new computer. However, I just realized that I can only play the music from the disc on the new computer, but am not able to extract it. Therefore, if I wanted to listen to a song, I would have to insert the disc that it was on each time. Is there any way to rip the music from the MP3 disc onto the new hard drive? I know I can burn the music on a regular audio CD and then rip it, but I'm estimating that it would take about 25 CDs to get all the music on there. The only other option that I can think of is to get an external hard drive or flash card and transfer the songs that way. I'm not trying to spend a ton of money though. Any advice or other options is appreciated.

When you created the discs, did you burn tham as a Data CD or as a MP3 CD?? You could also use the files and settings transfer wizard if you are using a microsoft based system. You can either do it that way over your network or via a CD or even a Direct Cable Connection I believe.

Did you right click on your CD drive and select Explore?? That way you might be able to drag and drop them into a dedicated folder on your new PC...

I created them as an MP3 CD, but the Explore technique worked like a charm. Just copied and pasted them onto the new PC. Thanks to the both of you for your help.
