Factory stereo question

I have an 01 sport trac with a factory stereo, pioneer 6 disc changer in dash. Anyways, if I wanted to replace it with one out of a newer sport trac that plays mp3's do the plugs on the back match up or are they different?

They are different......

I just went through that, BUT I think you could buy the pigtail and make it work....

I think this is the adapter plug you would need for the newer units. Also if you decide to change your radio let me know I may want to get it from you._Ron

Todd, what did you upgrade with if you don't mind me being nosy. My factory pioneer cd 6 is toast, been considering it but have noticed in the various threads it would not be all that easy to determine what type of radio would look good, function good, etc. without a ton of hassle.
