I was unhappy with my bug guard and headlights taking a sand blasting here and fading. I was going to replace them again, BUT

I found this stuff... ( I am waiting to see if it is ok with the guy to publicly mention his stuff).

I don't know if he makes it or buys it, but: !!!!!

Yeah, my Ford guard isn't lookin too good either. Even after I polished it with a Mother's or Meguiar's "Scratch-X" product I think it was. Lookin forward to the info becoming unclassified Todd.

Tod, that looks awesome, I have been looking for something with the kind of result for the longest while, please do tell.

I use a product called Carnewbe (sp?) Wax..yellow bottle. It's is freakin amazing and it takes out minor scratches, oxidation, tar...ect with ease.

I have used 3M plastic polish on my 2 other vehicles, no need yet on the Trac, and it has brought the optical clarity back on the headlight lenses on every occasion.

I think the bottle cost me about $10 and it was about an hour of elbow grease per vehicle.

You can do the same thing with plain old toothpaste. Just rub in on by hand with a soft micro-fiber cloth and it will remove the haze from clear plastic parts. Works even better if you have a small power buffer.

I have used toothpaste to polish plastic watch crystals , and even the whole watch with a soft toothbrush. Then rinse it in warm water (must be a waterproof watch) and the watch looks like new. Toothpaste also works pretty good for cleaning the plastic convertible top back windows too.

I might give it a shot. My 5 year old bug shield looks like crap. Doesn't really tell you how much you get. Says it's enough to do 3 cars but I'm assuming they just mean the headlights. Will one kit do my whole bug shield?
