So this is the "private sector space travel" that NASA says will take the place of the now-dead Space Shuttle? :bwahaha:
It seems that everyone and their mom is sending up iPhones and Android-based phones via weather balloons. So I've become a bit desensitized to these stories & pics. Guess it was newsworthy for the sensationalism of a 7 year old being involved in the project.
Though the article doesn't mention if they took any measures to slow the descent of the popped balloon. An iPhone might not weigh much, but with all the impetus a 19 mile fall, that's just asking for disaster.
