with the horrible drought conditions in the midwest, I am reading alot about people's private water wells drying up. For those in the midwest, are you worried about this at all. We paid $7000 a couple years ago for our well to be drilled, would hate to start that over. Are they talking shallow wells having the problem, like 50ft to water? Ours was 177ft to water. Can a deeper well run empty too? Anybody know much about wells?
 
Call your local extension agent. Local water tables vary greatly. Around here, they say the wells are still in good shape, despite the drought.
