OK, where are they? Jus kiddin. You need to get them from your library to the message board. Bob

PS: Too lazy to look in your library.......

OK Joe, went and looked. Nice looking truck. Like the color. But that's where the good news ends.

What was that guy thinking by using 3 floor jacks to get all 4 wheels off the ground??? And the picture of the front of the truck, up on a jack with a 2x4 on end to lift the truck? I don't mean to sound overly critical but does "safety first" come to mind here? Not too sure about the jack between the spring and frame to install the shackles. All things considered, the lift came out nice, the new tires look awesome and you really do have all-purpose vehicle. Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm just a stickler, as I've had too many things go bad by doing stuff like that. Bob

So to answer ur questions bob. They guy that did my tires is a really good friend and had been doing this for quite a while... I did ask him about it and I did check it myself. The 2x4 was the only way to get enough lift. And the jack between frame and the spring is some thing I had read online.

Jacking the front using an upright 2x4 is downright scary! Glad you got it done unscathed. :banghead:

I have used horizontally laying 4x4s before because I have not had a jack tall enough to lift my truck but that's a bit different. I also always use jack stands.

Had jack stands just not tall enough... I wasn't the only one working on my truck for Body lift I had two of my buddies of mine helping out.. we turned the 3 hour project into an 8 hour project.. we didn't want to go so fast and end up getting hurt.

Thinking back it was a 4x4 we used on the jack.

First off, I wanna say the truck looks great! Love the color and we don't see enough red ones, especially lifted.

But...

The body lift is not a 3 hour project, even for a shop. I don't want to call you a liar, but if you're using blocks of wood to lift your truck, I have a hard time believing you finished a body lift in 8 hours. I just have my doubts is all. You're not the first to make a claim like this, but this really isn't a manhood kind of thing. It's just more physical labor than that. If you truly did it in 8 hours, congratulations! That would blow my mind.

Me, my brother-in-law and my father-in-law all worked on it over three days and probably about 16 hours total of actual labor. Every tool known to man was available.

I can make the call if your serious... I promise you it only took 8 hours, 9 at the most. My dad did a body lift on his Xterra by himself in and it only took him a short time as well. I went to sleep one night and the following afternoon his body lift was on his truck...and he had to remove skid plates from front to back .. then put the lift on.. then replace all the skid plates.. all before I woke up.

I don't mind being called out, and I'm not offended either way. I don't believe in going and just up and braging about what I may or may not of done. My biggest thing that pisses me off are liars, and people who talk way to much about themselves. If 8 hours seems too quick a time for us to complete the project, then hell I'm right proud of myself and the boys for get getting done in that time. I honestly thought I was only supposed to take 3 hours. So in closing. Id like to respectfully. Say not bad for 3 trailer park boys.
