Fire Fox

Aloha guys,

Last week Fire Fox quit loading. I brought up the task manager and saw that the CPU usage was 100%. I thought that something went wrong with the program and deleted it. Then downloaded another and the problem is still there!!! What could I be doing wrong?

Did you actually go through add/remove programs and uninstall it? or just delete it?

JD, I removed it with add/remove and then did a search for anything left and deleted that!

or search for "firefox using 100 cpu" without the quotes, it seems like a pretty common problem, but there are a few different reasons for it. The one I linked is what I would try first though.

Thanks JD, I gave it 10 min and firefox didn't open/ Maybe it is something in my machine. I'll keep looking.

Try starting firefox in safemode

there may be a link in the start menu for it, if not, right click your firefox shortcut and add -safe-mode after it, mine looks like this, but I'm sure yours will be different.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode

That's funny, we are out running errands and my kids are asleep so my wife ran in the store while I wait in the van. The only time I use opera is on my blackberry.. Right now. All the other posts were from my desktop with firefox.



So I don't know much about it but it works nicely on my blackberry.
