FIREARMS REFRESHER COURSE

1. An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.

2. A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone.

3. Colt: The original point and click interface.

4. Gun control is not about guns; it's about control.

5. If guns are outlawed, can we use swords?

6. If guns cause crime, then pencils cause misspelled words.

7. Free men do not ask permission to bear arms.

8. If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

9. Those who trade liberty for security have neither.

10. The United States Constitution (c)1791. All Rights Reserved.

11. What part of "shall not be infringed" do you not understand?

12. The Second Amendment is in place in case the politicians ignore the others.

13. 64,999,987 firearms owners killed no one yesterday.

14. Guns only have two enemies; rust and politicians.

15. Know guns, know peace, know safety. No guns, no peace, no safety.

16. You don't shoot to kill; you shoot to stay alive.

17. 911: Government sponsored Dial-a-Prayer.

18. Assault is a behavior, not a device.

19. Criminals love gun control; it makes their jobs safer.

20. If guns cause crime, then matches cause arson.

21. Only a government that is afraid of its citizens tries to control them.

22. You have only the rights you are willing to fight for.

23. Enforce the gun control laws we ALREADY have; don't make more.

24. When you remove the people's right to bear arms, you create slaves.

25. The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control.

We're publishing a really, really good article on the D.C. Circuit's recent 2d Amendment interpretation in the Winter/Spring issue of our Law Review. It discusses the "proper" interpretation and why the D.C. Cir. was correct in striking down a law in the District that criminalized certain firearms possession. When it's released, I'll let you folks know where you can read it. For you 2d Amendment fanatics, it's a pleasure. For you opposers, it's a fairly balanced analysis of the Amendment, recent case law and the proper scope of gun control laws.

26. Guns kill people like spoons make Rosie O'Donnell fat

27. Guns kill people like doughnuts make Michael Moore fat

I'm not a personal support of personal attacks, but I love these two lines...

There are over 10,000 Federal, State, County and City laws and ordinances across the United States regarding the use and ownership of firearms, and yet they continue to try to make more laws...as if that weren't enough and we need more ????

Looking forward to it.

Going to be a fascinating situation. If the Supreme Court refuses to take the D.C. 2nd Amendment appeal, or they take it and rule as logic would indicate (upholding the Circuit courts strikedown of the D.C. gun ban), the floodgates will open and all kinds of challenges will be brougth in Cook County, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, and other places that have overreaching gun laws.

Hard to imagine the Supreme Court reversing the decision. If, by some total meltdown of sanity, they did reverse it, there could be some isolated acts of armed rebellion in response, if for no other reason than to put the government on notice that they are treading very dangerous ground.

SCOTUS has agreed to hear it. You're right. If they decide in agreement with the lower court, it will be precedent wither they want it to be or not. California, New Jersey, Illinois, Massachusetts, et al will have challenges. There will probably be challenges to the GCA of 1968 as well as the NFA of 1934, Brady Bill of 1993, BATFE legalities and organization, etc.

If they do reverse and go in the direction of Washington DC, there are a lot of really bad things on the horizon. Consider all rights to firearms ownership kaput. Washington DC will be able to enslave every citizen of the city as one of their arguments is that since they are not a state that the Consitution does not necessarily apply to them.

It will be a scary time. Most southern states have it in their state consitution that an individual has the right to bear arms. Civil War Redux, this time it's 40 vs 10 or 35 vs 15. What's better is that the 35 or 40 are the ones with few restrictions on firearms.

Have no thoughts about it ladies and gentleman. If there is a reversal, it better be EXTREMELY narrow or there will be a revolution. Most people of this country are sick and tired of the politicians running rough-shod over the citizens. Taxes go up every month, waste grows even faster. Rights are no longer.

If I'm not here tomorrow, the "PC Police" have paid a visit.
