Well this is a first for me. Over 30 years on the job and this morning I just could not go to work. I'm not sick, I just couldn't get myself to go. I took the day off. I feel guilty for not going in but I still didn't go. I had nothing to do and I did nothing really.

I wrote in a thread here recently that they would have to drag me off the job kicking and screaming every inch. What to heck has gotten in to me. This is way off character.

Sorry, just venting............no one else to talk to.

Gerry...no need to apologize. Venting is good both for the mind and for the soul. What you just did today was take a "Mental Health Day". You're not sick...ill...feeling terrible. You just needed a day off. The more you work...the more the need to take a "Mental Health Day".

Believe me...I've taken my share of "Mental Health" days. Without them...I'd probably go crazy!!!:wacko::wacko:

Gery it's OK, go ahead and vent you have plenty of friends here. A doctor told me a long time ago to take time off when you want to, it's healthy to do so. I suffer from from migraines and that's what he told me to do now and then.

Good for you, I suggest you include tomorrow also. Let that guilt feeling go. You're better off taking time for yourself now than going in and compounding the pressure.

next time you decide to take a mental health day check out the movie office space. it's essentially about a guy who just decides he does not want to go to work anymore and when he stops going they decide to promote him. it's a very funny movie and will definitely make you feel better about taking the day off as well as give you something to do since you said you did nothing.
