Well, I needed to get new tires for my '02 today. I really had no choice--I was down to 2/32" on three of them, and the fourth was signficantly lower than that! First new tires ever for it--at 86K! Got the same Goodyear Wranglers that came OEM on it.

What's the most anyone here has gotten on their Sport Trac's OEM tires?

I'm looking to get some new tires too. I've got close to 4/64", 2/32" or 1/16" however you want to look at it. I usually break it down to the lowest common denominator. but each to his own. hehe :D Kinda leaning toward the REVOs they seem to be a good piece of rubber.

I had Revos on my '99 Explorer. I got 78k on the first set and they still had 7/32. They were just feathered really bad (bad shocks) and I couldn't take the noise. My second set has 42k on 'em now and they'fe got 11/32.

My oem goodyears were SCARY after 40k. I did stretch then to 50k but . . . . Most here can't wait to get rid of the goodyears. I have 30k on BF Goodrich long trail TA's and have plenty left on them.

wait wait... u went back to the goodyears?!:wacko::blink: I didn't even eat all the tread on mine because i couldn't stand those things so much!

wow... you are the first person in history that I think went back to oem tires, let me guess, you are on stock shocks too (change those out and you'll experience a whole new and beter Trac)... hahaha

just my opinion but i would have upgraded, but to each their own. Personally I am partiel to the BF goodrich all terrains, but thats also cause i use them in all conditions from mud to snow to dry pavement.

We just bought tires for my 02 and we went a little farther than that, 102,000 miles, we couldn't believe it either. They were great and we went back to the same thing Goodyear OEM, can't ask for better performance. Also our gas mileage is great I get between 19 and 21 miles to the gallon around town . I love my Sporttrac and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Anybody want to have a meet in Louisville, just for the fun of it. Thanks

Really.... 21 MPG local?

I think we are averaging around 15. Already told the wife, truck sits in the garage, drive the winter beater, its gets 25mpg on average.

Sorry but gas around here is 2.75 a gallon right now..........I could spend 30 for two weeks of driving in the Duster, or spend 40 for one week of driving in the truck, if that..

I would drive on the rims before I would put another set of Wrangler RT/S on anything I have.

Lee--sounds like you and I had similar experiences with our Wranglers. I don't know if their quality is inconsistent and you and I just got some good ones, or what, that would cause everyone else to dislike them so much--but like you, my personal past experiences were definitely good enough to get them again.

I have a set of Revos and like them, have a little over 50K on them and needing to replace. Not usre if I will go back with them because i feel they wore a little to fast.

Revos have two different types of rubber. The outer layer is softer, for better traction, but wears quickly. The inner layer is harder. I agree, they wear fast and my first set cupped in about 15K miles.

Changed out my factory Michelins at around 42K. They were worn out. I do mostly city driving though. The Bridgestone Dueler Alenza's I got are much, much better then the Michelins.
