Better to flush before or after dropping the pan for maintenance?

(Will be dropping the pan to change the filter and will add a drainplug. While I'm at it I think I'll be dropping the valve body as well...more on this later.)

I have two thoughts... I think before may be better..... Check for leaks while flushing

IF after your new filter does not get old fluid in it...

If doing the valve body gasket change, I would flush afterwords to get any junk out.....

IF just changing solenoids ( no need to remove VB) then do it first..
