Was trying to play DVD on computer and get message, "PC Friendly component has a problem and needs to close". Tried several times and get same message. It worked before. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

When an application is showing this symptom, it might be a DLL library that got corrupted, You might want to start in safe mode and remove completele PCFriendly and reinstall it.

Is PC Friendly trying to access the web?

Do you have a firewall that might be stopping it?

Is it giving you any details like:

AppName: <whatever> AppVer: <whatever> ModName: <whatever>

ModVer: <whatever> Offset: <whatever>

Where did you get this PC Friendly from. My opinion would be to download and install another DVD player software such as "Roxio DVDMAX Player". Did PC Friedly come with your DVD player? It sounds like a player chock full of spyware to me. I did do a google search on PC Friendly and the first listed website says the software has changed and needs to be updated and also has a link to a new website I guess for a name change. This does not sound like a stable user friendly spyware free player to me.
