I encountered this while changing my rear diff fluid AGAIN. Just thought I'd point it out.
According to Ford, you should fill the rear diff past the fill plug. The procedure is shown below.
My diff doesn't have this sensor. I can only assume it's a Job 1 thing.
Not only do I not have the sensor, but I have a speed sensor on each rear wheel instead. I confirmed with the engineer at Ford that filling to the fill plug is correct and the service manual is mistaken. Just FYI, y'all.
