Robert,,We might be related. My wife is a Tyo. Her name was Catherine Tyo. Her father is Leo b. Tyo. He is from Massachusetts. He retired with 31yrs Coast Gaurd in '91.
The Tyo name is not a common one. It was changed from Michelle to Tallione, then shortend to Tyo. Thats as per my motherinlaw.
We went to a big Tyo family reunion, at lake ontario, a few years ago. Most are from the northeast and Canada.
