FORD CAPS 2009 WITH 33 PERCENT SALES INCREASE, FIRST FULL-YEAR MARKET SHARE GAIN SINCE 1995

* Ford, Lincoln and Mercury December sales up 33 percent versus a year ago; highest sales month since May 2008

* Ford posts first full-year market share gain since 1995; December marks the 14th time in 15 months that Ford increased retail market share

* Record December sales delivered for Fusion (up 83 percent) and Escape (up 75 percent) ; Fusion sets new full-year sales record (180,671); Escape full-year sales (173,044) second best ever

* Fords F-Series tops best-seller lists again with December sales of 48,209 (up 16 percent) and full-year sales of 413,625; F-Series has been the best-selling truck in America for 33 years in a row and the best-selling vehicle, car or truck, for 28 years in a row

* New products drive Fords brand favorability and purchase consideration to record highs

The full news release with a breakdown of sales numbers is linked below. Looking at the table, I guess they lumped Sport Trac sales in with Explorers, 'cause the Sport Trac model isn't listed.:smile0003:

Amazing what you can do when you don't whine to the government, but instead think ahead, and work towards giving what the people want, at a price they are willing to pay, and back it with quality!

I think the big three shouldn't be GMC, Chevy and Ford, it should be Ford, Lincoln, Mercury!

And to think, 52 weeks ago ford stock was $1.50 per, could not get the wife to pull the trigger on just 1000 shares, 1500 bux, will open over 11 tomorrow:(

how many fusions, escapes & exploreres sold to fleet markets?

i know that ford was pushing these models to the fleet customer with some huge discounts.

either way, a good thing except the residual.

yes bill, i feel the same way. a nice little investment

I saw this on the news last night, but dispite the big gains by Ford, it was reported they are still losing money?? Just not as bad as they did before.

I'm pretty sure Ford will make it, but I still feel that GM will be closing it's doors soon. I think we taxpayers are just throwing more good money after bad trying to keep them afloat.

I play an online stock market game with a bunch of other guys. I came in second place for 2009 and am currently in first place for 2010. My only stock has been Ford. :smile0015:
