Not sure what raym2 is saying, but compared to GM's stock price of $38.15 it's not looking good for Ford. While $9.49/share could/should be seen as a bargain, I doubt many of us have enough confidence in the companies direction to purchase any(at least I don't).

Not all stock is equal.

Lets say there are two companies. Both are worth $1 million.

One has 500,000 shares of stock at 2 bucks each and the other has 100,000 shares at 10 bucks each.

Which company is a better investment?

Tom

No, it wouldn't mean they are bankrupt. I worked for a company and their stock went down to 5.00 a share. However, there were 200 Million in cash in reserves plus another 100 Million in investments.

They also had 10 profitable quarters in a row. However, their growth was only at 8% where the market was 20-30% a year. Therefore, the stock really didn't go up that much.

My friend bought Apple back in 1994 at 12.00 a share. He is a millionaire now off the stock.

raym2,

The price of one share of stock is not reflective of a companies worth.

There is one stock trading on the NYSE at about $109,475.00. Yes that is right, over $109,000.00 a share.

Do not let the individual numbers confuse you.

Tom

SST,

I know. I am suprised that actually 500 shares traded. I mean, who has $109,000+ to buy one share of stock?

Tom

Exactly...LOL I always remember it's that company because if someone says I will buy you one share of any stock it's going to be that one (BRK.A)...LOL

BTW...they tried to buy Allison Transmissions and lost two other private companies.
