Does Ford not make 'mini'-vans anymore? I visited their online showroom and all they had was the E-Series. I'm probably going to need a 'mini'-van come January as that will be time for kid number three to make her appearance. Just can't cram a wife, an eleven yo, a two yo, a newborn, and all the stuff required to keep them all happy into the ST and still keep a measure of comfort. Will probably end up going with a Honda Odyssey but I would like to give Ford a chance.

No they are getting out of the van market but within the next year they will be coming out with a vehicle called the Ford Flex. Similar to the Taurus X but larger and different styling cues. I'm a sales rep for a ford dealership and we are pretty excited about the Flex coming in.

Thanks Patrick.

Oh well, one less dealership to visit when test-drive time comes around.

If I were you, I would go see Honda. For two reasons. First they are struggling in that Van market and two, they are giving large cash incentives and low financing. Plus it is a nice van.

Hope this helps.

I think that GM is getting out of the minivan business too. The market share for GM and Ford was too small after the Odyssey, Sienna, Town & Country, & Sedona.

Rocks

May want to consider the Mazda CX-9 crossover (replaced the MPV minivan)...sweet ride, and beat out Honda in Motor Trend's comparison test:

1ST PLACE - MAZDA CX-9 GRAND TOURING AWD

"The premium blend of performance, utility, and value."

— Motor Trend 06/2007 Comparison Test: 2007 Acura MDX, 2007 GMC Acadia SLT AWD, 2007 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring AWD

Nope, I've looked at both the CX-9 and the TaurusX, both are unacceptable replacements for a minivan. There just is not enough room in them and there would be too much scrambling over or behind the second row. There's also no curtain airbags for the third row. And God forbid if you get rear-ended, you can kiss whoever was in the back seats goodbye.
