A few days ago Ford updated its website with the 2008 Edge. Some new colors and 20" rims. I find it amusing that automakers have 20-inchers available as an option nowadays. Looks over practicality. But that's what the consumer wants right? They do look good on the Edge (and MKX).

I think the 08 E-series van also became available last week, which makes Ford's current lineup all 2008 models. Just an observation.

Actually, most consumers want to put their own after market wheels on instead of buying bigger wheels from the car mfg.

And, most dealers will allow you to add 2K to the price of the car so that you can run down to Discount Tire (or others) and purchase the wheels you want. It's pretty common practice here in Seattle.

For the most part, I like OEM rims (part of my issue with a clean look). I think it was Josh Beckett back when he was with the Marlins, who after being ribbed by teammates for driving an H2 with stock rims, commented that "GM pays these designers thousands to make a rim for it. There's nothing wrong with how they look." :)

I prefer stock rims unless there is a need or requirement to go with aftermarket wheels.

The Borbet wheels I have for my car are the stock 15" diameter, but a 7" rim vs. the stock 5.5" rim. I need tires that are 215 wide and the 5.5" wide wheels are just too narrow when the stock tire was 185.

If there was a cheap way to get them widened, I would go that route. I think stock wheels look the best.

I have nothing against 20-inch rims, it's just I've seen some that totally do not go with the vehicle that they're on. This is the advantage OEM rims have...they match nicely. And I'm starting to see some nice OEM 20's out there. I'm glad to be seeing domestic brands catering to trends.

I'd love to get 20's for my Trac but even if I could afford them right now, there are very few that I think would match my truck. I wish there were OEM 20's (or even 19s) for my Trac.

i think it's great ford offers a 20" rim. the only problem is that ford offers a chrome pkge that has CHEAP plastic chrome clad wheel covers for your 20' rim ! put a real wheel on the 20" s !

but i think this post was about the ford edge

i had a demo from ford that we used for 3 weeks. it was fully loaded and i thought it was great, wife did to as well. but not worth the 35K sticker. overall , nice but i would also consider a mazda cx-7, nissan murano.
