This year we will experience 4 unusual dates: 1/1/11. . . 1/11/11 . . . 11/1/11. . . 11/11/11. . . And did you know, when you take the last 2 digits of the year you were born plus the age you will be this year, it will equal 111...

How does that happen?

Not true.

My daughter, born in 2002, turns 9 this year.

But it does add to 11 though...

and next year it will add to 12 or 112, last year it would've been 10 or 110.

Unless you know someone that would be 112 this year, then it would be 211.. starting to see a patern though.

Yes, Uncle_Bob, I'm well aware of that. I was making fun of the whole premise.

It's amazing how some people in this world can't figure out that if someone's age on their birthday is defined as the current year minus the year of birth (that is, A = Yc - Yb), then basic algebra states that Yc = A + Yb. Then, if you then subtract 1900 from each side (which is what you're doing by using only "the last 2 digits of the year"), and substitute in "2011" for the current year, then A + Yb - 1900 = Yc - 1900 = 2011 - 1900 = 111.

How does that happen?

Math. That's how it happens.
