Heather: I agree. Not sure how someone could look in a mirror and not get angry with themselves and do something about it.

And for those who claim it's a 'thyroid condition', that's total BS.

I wouldn't condemn them, because of their obesity. Some could be genetically inclined to be overweight. Some could have other reasons. For the most part, these ladies seem happy with their bodies, otherwise they wouldn't be showing them off in such a way.

I've always tried to find some good in everyone, and don't judge folks by their outward appearances. I've also noticed that as I get older, my definition of "beauty" has become broader (no pun intended).

I think most of us have a few extra pounds we'd like to get rid of, but in the end, isn't the goal to be happy with yourself, and find people who treat you the way like to be treated?

M-kay!

As a very heavy guy, I have to say that it's admirable that you have that attitude Nelson, but the ladies in these calendars are fat because they take in WAY more calories than they burn off, and given how obese they are, that means a LOT, LOT of calories.

I am fat because of my choices. I know that!

And these gals make me look skinny!

Sure, they are probably great people, and I am not judging them, but I also won't excuse them assuming that there is some reason for their condition. Same with smokers that smoke, or drinkers that drink too much. Choices!

Hey hey hey, let's not lump drinking in with obesity...lol. I think there's fat, like lazy, and then there's fat, like disgustingly unhealthy. I don't condemn them for their choices, but I don't think they should be proud of those bodies either. I'm 6'4" and 265lbs, and they make me look like a twig...something's just not right with that. And TJR, as far as drinkers that drink too much, I think as long as they're only hurting themselves then it's okay. I mean, I need to drink a 12pack or a fifth to get a buzz....to get legally drunk I need to consume a case of beer in about an hour...lol...sometimes it sucks being big.

I don't condemn anyone for their choices. If someone wants to drink to get drunk, go ahead. If they want to eat and get to be 400+ pounds, kewl by me.

I just won't get all "Oh, they may have some condition", "But for the grace of God go I" on them.

No offense, Nelson, (or Jeff C). I just think people need to recognize that it's OKAY to be whatever you are, just don't try to rationalize it. If you are 400 lbs...YOUR FAULT. If you are broke all the time, yet smoke and drink and party on weekends...YOUR FAULT.

I have ranted about rationalization and personal responsibility before here, so I will let this go.

Well, there are a few with Endocrine Dysfunction (Prader-Willi Syndrome), and that IS genetic (you can google it).

NOTE: Not a large percentage of the population tho...

My thoughts exactly. -Heather
