Front Axel Question

I'm having a problem finding a "clunk" that I have in my front end. It sounds like suspension of heavy parts not like a shield or something thin.



Replaced a wheel bearing and upper ball joint but nether of these proved to be the problem although they needed to be replaced.



Shop that did the work thinks the rear hanger for the front differential my have a bad bushing. I pulled the bolt and it looks ok. Any one had this problem?



Also when I pulled the bolt a brash looking shim fell out. Not sure where or how it goes back. The pictures and manual I have dont show it.

I have to ask the question out of curiosity: Have you check the front end link yet?

Had a clunk, coming from the right front side. The sway bar endlink was cracked.
