front brake pads?

I'm hearing some squeaking from my brakes when I slow doen to a stop. I'm going to check the pads out. If I need to replace them, what kind and brand should I use? I have an 01 ST 4x4.

Also, I've never changed the rear brakes. Is this difficult? Is it the same pads as the front? I looked in the project section and I found the project for front brakes. Is there one for the rears?

Joycie, Your ST has drum brakes in the rear. Most vehicles that have front and rear disk would use different pads ( except some old corvettes).



I don't know if there is a project for the rears....



As far as type to use, Get a good set of carbon pads, Most of the semi-metallics tend to squeal over time...

Do I have a 1 piston caliper or 2 piston caliper? I'm on the autozone website and it's asking me.
