'02 Sport Trac, 4wd. Brakes grind when applied in reverse. Pads looked great, but I replaced anyway. Still the same thing. What am I missing? Many thanks -

may be the rears, could be a drive shaft, bad wheel bearing, other things are moving too.

Thank you, Todd. I didn't think of any of those. What would you check first? This truck has about 160K, and I have records from PO that front hubs were replaced by the dealer around 70K.

maybe have some one stand outside the truck and reverse and let them listen by each wheel and see.
Have to take rears off and check drums for wear and dragging, and spin each tire in the air and listen and look.

If you have drums. Make sure the E-brake completely releasing. You live in road salt country. Cable may be frozen.
