Front End Noise

As an Aircraft Mechanic, I hate when Pilots try to describe an issue with noises. But here goes...I have a 2010 4X4 Sport Trac with 133k on it. before I bought it it was serviced by a Ford Dealership in NJ. I have a knocking or tapping noise coming from the frontend. It is more noticeable while stopping and no brakes applied.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Most likely the ball joints.

Thanks, I am having it looked at in a few weeks. My NAPA Autocare is currently overloaded with business due to income tax refunds and stimulus $$.

At 133K 4x4, maybe an axle or bearing hub or knuckle.
