I have a 2001 Sport Trac (90k Miles) which is making a squeaking noise from the front right side. It sounds a little like brake squeak (however it is not). The noise is not a brake issue (I have put in different pads and no noise change). The noise is constant after ~5 mph and not affected by turning, loading, suspension movement, etc..). I lubricated the inside wheel hub rubber seal (half shaft hub input seal). The wheel rotates freely and appears the bearings are OK. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Tim

By "half shaft hub input seal", do you mean the seal on the differential or hub side? If you mean the differential side, then I vote for the "excluder" (dust) seal at the hub side of the half axle. These will squeak from about 5 MPH to 25-ish, particularly when cold. If you mean the seal I note, then I have no guess. Perhaps the lubrication needs to be deeper in the seal.
