This is my first post. I just bought my first sport trac 2004 XLT V6, it needs new tires and shocks. After reviewing this and other web sites I joined this web site. My problems are teoing out tires bad shocks, I think new shocks and 255/70R16 michelin LTX M/S2 will fix it. Any thoughts will be well recieved.

Make sure that you get the front aligned after getting the new tires installed. Worn shocks don't typically casue an alignment issue however they will cause the tires to become chopped (the tire tread has high and low spots that you can feel if you run your hand around the diameter of the tire)

Trust the guys here....they know their stuff!! If it wasn't for the projects here and the help of the very informed guys and gals here I would have been paying a ton for things that I could have done on my own.

As for the wheel alignment...you need one for sure if your tires are doing what they are doing.

Oh and :welcome::banana:

:welcome: to the site, Mark.

Besides new tires & shocks consider the possibility of replacing the upper ball joints / control arms from MOOG. Also replace the front end links with MOOG problem solver that you can get from AutoZone just in their box. Take a look at the rear end link bushing replacement project under projects / ride and handling.
