Fuel Filter

Does the 04 Trac with duel fuel option have an inline fuel filter. I check the board but could not locate answer. The computer shows filter in tank?

I have a Flex Fuel '05, my filter looks like Todd's.

Yeah ford used the 3 prong filter in 01 and 02 and went back to the 2 post 03 and up...

Mine is a '01 job 2 and it looks like the one Trac_511 is showing, two prong.

They are not intrchangeable...



They filter with the third port is a return port, it is supposed to keep the fuel moving and cooler, it helps prevent vapor lock and stuff like that...

Is this a simple swap out? I might be looking into doing my own tune-up and would like to replace the fuel filter since I dont know when it was last replaced.

DanG - you need a tool to get it off. A metal one works the best. There was a post in the last week or so about how hard some have had removing theirs.

i know that they're not interchangeable. im just wondering why some '01 job2 has 2 prongs and some have 3 prongs
