The dealer is going over my truck to fix. The obvious: dome light, back bumper, and locking gas cap. When I picked it up at the impound lot there was no gas in it and the dash was at low fuel. Filled it up and the fuel gauge does not work and still says low fuel. The dealer suspects the sensor in the gas tank is faulty and suggested it was like that before the truck was stolen and said the insurance may not cover it. It was not broken before the theft and I will deal with the insurance people directly. My question is does it sound like a fuel tank sensor or something easy like undo the negative on the battery and it will reset? Any input would be appreciated.
