C Wells 10'' L5 Solo Baric Box

Kicker 10'' L5 Solo Baric 2 ohm

Kicker KX600.1 amp

Can anyone recommend a head unit? And how much would all of this cost?

Would the Trac rattle?

Thanks.

The Trac WILL rattle, but it'll sound great. I installed a L7 in my friend's WRX, and it will give you a headache in about 10 seconds, so even though the L5 is the next level lower, I have some respect for their equipment.

I don't believe C.Wells makes an enclosure for a 10" Solo. Last I checked it was for an 8" and IMO the 8" will still give you what you want. The 600.1 will be solid for the 8" but you will be able to supply a 10" with more power if you go that route. If you do go with a 10" get a larger amp it will give you room to grow, if desired, and it will better meet the needs you're currently seeking.

cwells does/did MAKE a 10" solo box for more of a cost from the 10" round box. He did when I was looking at them about 1 1/2yrs ago.

Thanks a lot guys. Can ya'll recommend a good head unit to go with this system?

What can I do to minimize rattle?

[Broken External Image]: cwells 10" L5 box there is more in his library. I have a Panasonic and love it. I hear Alpine makes good head units also.

Would it be unintelligent to purchase car audio gear on ebay? Because from what I've seen they offer the same products for hundreds less.

No, aslong as you buy it from someone that doesnt screw you (has good feeback, is paypal verified, long time member, etc). I've bought tons of stuff off ebay.com and have only had 1 problem that paypal fixed. Last thing I bought was a 12" Kicker L5 brand new for $100 shipped and it retails for $200+ without shipping.

I have a 12" sub and my trac doesnt rattle, but i have dynamat in the doors for better speaker response, trust me it DOES make a difference and will reduce rattle if you have any at all.

Dynamat (Or Brown Bread from B-Quiet if you don't want to pay the outrageous prices of Dynamat) will really help with sound rattles. In the areas where the Dynamat isn't the best option, like where two plastic panels meet, some felt will do the trick.

In my case, I don't hear rattles because the music drowns what little there are, out.

As far as a head unit, I'v got an Alpine and really like it.

My Alpine unit is almost 4 years old and I know the models have changed but it still works flawlessly and I still love it. Best head unit I have ever owned and believe me I have owned many.. I always buy cars with the cheapest stock radio and then turn around and install a good after market. Much cheaper and most of the time has way better sound then anything the automaker can offer.
