Gear shifter chrome cap.

Can you replace the chrome shifter cap without replacing the complete shifter?

yes...my chrome covering was peeled off about 20% of it, so i did pry up on it and had it off a yr or so ago. never did buy another but you have reminded me about it now. will probably cover it with the carbon fibre looking sheet material that will stick on. not crazy about that chrome look anyway. if i remember, it is attached with 2 prongs that hold it tight. just carefully pry along edge with a tiny screwdriver

I peeled the rest of mine off. Lightly sanded the white plastic piece, taped everything off and spray painted it flat black. Looks so much better and the paint has not peeled.
