My 2007 V8 4X4 XLT ST has approx. 70,000 miles and I'm thinking of replacing the original shocks. Please give thoughts about what are the best to use cost vs ride. Thanks for any info.

I drove a ST with the KYB.... I liked the ride.

I may do the complete spring assembly from Monroe if I get lazy...

What's a complete spring assembly from Monroe mean? I always read Todd Z's comments because of his wealth of ST knowledge but sometimes it just over my head.

Thanks

Benny

I think Todd's talking about the Monroe product called Quick-Strut that's the whole shootin' match put together (see the pic on their website). You just pull out old strut and put in the new one; no messing with spring required. However, looking at their e-catalog I don't see an offering for the Sport Trac.

Rancho also has a similar product called QuickLIFT. It gives you about 1" of lift. They also offer shocks that do not include new springs and obviously do not change the ride height. I have had the QuickLIFTs on my 07 Sport Trac for over two years. Rancho does not list the Sport Trac in any application charts but the shocks made for the regular Explorer fit just fine.
