I need a new set of tires for my 05 4wd to the Yokohama Geolander ATS 245/75/16 or the Goodrich All Terrain TA 255/70/16. I do drive on gravel and the farm on the week-ends. Which would you prefer? Better idea?

Thanks

I'm running the BFG All Terrains now and don't really have any complaints about them. Never used Geo's before so no info on them, I did run Bridgestone Dueller APT II's and really liked them for a all around tire.

I would prefer the BFG's but they are more expensive and some say they are hard to maintain as far as treadwear and treadlife are concerned. If you're not doing serious hardcore off-roading on the farm and money is an obstacle I would go with the AT/S but if money is not an obstacle and you can rotate the tires every 5k and keep them balanced and properly maintained go with the BFG's they look and preform good.

I have the Pirelli Scorpion ATR and I really like them. Tread design is similar to the Bridgestone Revo's and I got a good deal for them on NTB. Just giving you that thought too.

I'm on my second set of the Geolander's.

Had the AT, and now the AT/S.

I when through the Goodyear within a year.

My driveway is about 1/4 mile, of off road, e.i., need 4x4 to get out in the winter.

Then another 1.3 miles of rough road to the main roadway.

At the time also had about 80 miles of highway driving, so about 105 miles a day.

The AT/S are quieter on the highway, and seem just as good in the dirt/mug/ snow-Ice.

I went with Discount Tire and have them rotated every 3-4 months, about 6k or so.
