I have been wanting to do this for a while. I want to drop the pan to check for shrapnel that would indicate the timing cassettes may have failed. I'm at 118k miles and the tensioners have never been changed. I should have done this before I did the thermostat housing because then doing the tensioners would have been cake. Anyway... while it is off, is there anything up in there I should be very careful about or anything that I should take a close look at?

Remove+Clean+ReInstall the OilPump Screen + SuctionTube; careful it's only plastic.
Do a good visual thru the Girdle opeings, look+feel for broken Guide pieces.
Good cleaning of the Pan & Flange, plus new PanGasket.
Clean any loose paint from Pan, maybe a fresh finish on bottom side.
Consider replacing DrainBolt with a FumotoValve.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that you find no broken guide pieces.

Thanks for the tips. I don't really expect to find anything as the only time I hear any kind of rattle is if it has been sitting for a couple of days, and then it is only at startup. But, it needs an oil change anyway and I would rather be sure than pull a tensioner and have the whole thing crumble.
Hmmm... remove, clean, and replace a peice of plastic that has been soaking in oil and heated/cooled repeatedly for the last 20 years... I think I might source a new one before I start, just in case.

Belt & Suspenders! My 20+ YearOld plastic OilSuctionTube was still in good shape
though it is the same type of black plastic as the ThermoStatHousing.
There is an ORing were it slips back onto the OilPump inlet;
I smeared a little RTV on the ORing & added a SpringClamp to that connection.
They run ~$25 on Ebay, FordMotorCraft# 1L2e-6617-ab.
