I have thought this for years:

Yet each year, carmakers draw multitudes into showrooms with inferences of "race bred" technology and the slightest hint that some part of your new car comes from a race car. Take your entire car apart--you'll never find that piece.

I have a relative who bought a Monte Carlo because as that person stated "Its just like Nascar."

I thought to myself, "Yeah, right. Compared to this, a real stock car is the space shuttle".

Outwardly though I just grinned and nodded.

Article is right on the mark. Who cares if the engine at WOT has a gazillion HP and that the car can navigate a Formula I track at high speed when the most you'll ever do is 80 mph on a tame section of interstate. It's all a sales and marketing ploy. Fact is, an old Ford Escort had plenty of power for the type of driving that 99% or more of us do on a daily basis.

Just my opinion folks. Everybody's got one.
