We are in the middle of a blizzard here in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Most businesses and churches are closed, but this morning I went to breakfast with my parents and when I got home, the Trac was leaking green fluid all over the snowy driveway. I tried to look under the truck and it is packed with snow, and spots are green color too. Of course my first thought was coolant but I am not low on coolant at all, and I have been checking all day. I decided to drive to the gym later and see what else I could find out, and it seems like my gas guage is dropping. I think the gas around here is green color in the winter, because of the anti-freeze. Anyone have any Ideas?? Thanks Brett

Ford uses anti-freeze that is amber colored. So it would look like a dog peed in the snow if that was the issue. If you have changed the fluid and used green coolant it could be possible to have the green snow from that. It wouldn't take a large quantity to color the snow.

Some window washer fluid is green. Have you checked that?

Thanks Nelson, yeah I checked the washer fluid, it is orange rain-x brand. Also the coolant in the radiator and the reservoir are both really dark green color. I have only had this thing for about a year, and havent touched the coolant. I think I just need to get the thing inside a heated building and look underneath it.

Hopefully it isn't a big issue. This would be a bad time to figure out that you didn't have the the correct mixture of fluid in your engine. If one of the Quik Lube or Tire places are open they might be able to check it out for you today in their garage. With the blizzard and it being a Sunday, that may not be an option though.

Good luck!

I think some of the pre '04 tracs came with green anti-freeze...'04 and up had the orange..

Well if it were gas, I'm sure you'd smell it. Did you see the green fluid dripping from the trac?

Have you been using your heater in that blizzard? Heater hose / heater core? Is your passenger side footwell wet (not sure how this works without carpeting.)

Maybe you ran over a leprechaun. I'm calling the police.
