Hard bed cover won’t lock anymore

I’ve seen several threads here and elsewhere about the hard tonneau cover on these things failing to unlock but I couldn’t find any about it not locking. I had it in storage for about six months and put it back on because I want to start carrying some expensive tools in the bed and it won’t lock anymore. What’s failed and how do I fix it? The latches will latch manually but not when I drop the cover. It’s an 05 sport Trac.

Now it’s working fine. A little confused. Maybe the time in storage did something to it that needed to be undone by riding around with it on or something? I don’t know. If it works I’m not complaining. Lol.

They take time to settle in and acclimate.... Funny but true.... They "Rack" and so does the bed. a good shot with your fist on the corner gets it going again.

Also lubricate the cables and stuff too....

What do you lubricate them with?

Wd40 or dry film spray is better.
