Hello,

I am replacing my rotors and pads on my 04 ST and have gotten 3 of the rotors off but i cant figure out to get the last one off. The divers side rear rotor will not come off. I believe that the emergency brake is holding it on but cant figure out how to disengage it. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks

From the rear, the backing plate will have a small rubber gasket on it. Take that gasket/cover off and stick a flathead screwdriver in and back off the adjuster screw.

Sometimes the cable is seized within the cable housing, thus the E-brake will not just release.

Take a pair of Vise Grips and grab the cable about 1/2 inch in front of where it goes into the cable housing.

Take a hammer and tap the vise grips back in the direction of the rear bumper. When the Vise Grips stop at the housing, do the same thing 2 or three more times.

Then see if you have luck in getting the router off...

Can you turn the rotor or is it locked up? Is the rotor starting to come off a little but then getting stuck?

If it turns but will not start to come off you need a BFH. A couple of well placed hammer blows on the face of the hat(where the lug studs extend through) should free it up.
