I'm having trouble with my heater system. The front vents don't work but the back does. Any one know what can be wrong?

Could be the switch...
Do you hear any noises under the dash, like an air leak ??
Also under the hood check the vacuum line by the heater core, there is a vacuum line, follow it, make sure it is not off..
You also can look under the dash and see if one of the vacuum pots is stuck..

Is it blowing on the windshield only by chance???
If so, you have lost your vacuum source to the controls as it defaults to the defrost for safety. There is a hose that runs from the engine compartment to the passengers kick panel area. That is the normal hose to disconnect. Find the hose, trace it out and I'll bet you find your issue...
