Im painting the radio bezel because the factory paint was flaking off and to just give it a better look. I just tried black bumper coat paint like a flat black and that was an epic fail and it looked like major crap. What is a good kind of paint to use on the bezel? I've seen several trucks with painted bezels that look good. So which kind to use?

Thanks

Kyle

I've seen Krylon recommended, not used it yet though. Preparation is the major part of a paint job you know. Clean clean clean!!!

Check this link too.

Krylon is good, like Steve M said prep is the key. Clean and sand the bezel down smooth. Then use adhesive promoter before painting. If you paint the front and back then you won't have the paint edge the usually peels off ( factory paint ).:supercool::banana:

As the others mentioned, Krylon seems to be the answer.

As a side note, there is a TSB on the peeling paint issue with the radio bezel. If you are under the miles/year Ford will replace it for free...

I'd have to look up when the TSB was issued, more specifically, to what years it applied.

In most cases, TSB's go for 36 months and or 36,000 miles.

thanks for all the responses. I wiped all the paint off and resanded the crap out of it again, primed it real good and made sure it was clean and then put 2 coats of the black paint on there and its sticking right now. if it doesnt work out ill check Krylon
