Hey guys, I need to know how to check if my raiator fan clutch is %100 good.

When at idle for more than about 5 minutes in the summer , My ac does not cool and get back in and ease the rpms up a little and it cools right down. I am suspecting the fan is not spinning good enough at idle.

Thanks

poman out:boohoo:

After that long idle. stop the motor and imediatly spin the fan in direction of travel. You should feel extremme resistance.

Your best bet would be to have a set of gauges set up on the ac system adn see what the pressures are doing at idle. A weak fan would cause the high side pressure to climb, when this happens the ac doesn't cool as well. Spinning the fan is not really a conclusive test.

Your Refridgerant is low! you have a leak in your AC system.

when you pick up the idle speed.. the compressor runs faster.. the fan runs faster.. and the refrigerant flows quicker...

Put preasure gauges on your AC system and check first.

We are all about saving money. I know I am don't like spending my money on something If I can do it myself.. but Don't go throwing parts at something if you don't know.; You will spend more money and not get the problem fixed.

I would suggest, take it to a licensed AC shop.. part of the cost of repair is Diagnosis.. it's included with the repair.

It's working fine, you dont have enough airflow across your condensor, hense the instant cooling effect when you step on the pedal.
