I am not sure what size wheels/rims will fit my ST. I have the standard whit outlined letter Michelin R235/70R16 tires. Please let me know what size rims/wheels I should look for to fit these and what the offset/bolt pattern measurements are! Thanks, Gary

The tire is 16 inch, so you need a 16 inch rim.... Something 7-7.5 inches wide and in a 5 x 4.5

Bolt pattern with a Back spacing and offset close to the stock at ( 4.5" backspace and a +22mm offset.)

Hope this helps

For my 05 I was told that I need a 16x8 wheel with a medium offset. Is this enough information and is it correct information for me to search for wheels on the internet?

Me, unfortunately the info i posted above, i got from doing a search on this site...

Most of the 16x8 wheels I've looked at have a 4.5" backspace, meaning that bigger tires might hit on the insides. The stock 235/70 tires will fit on an 8" rim but a 7" is better.

An 8" is going to stretch the sidewalls out and it'll look funny. My .02.

My 05 Trac came with P255/70R16. The bolt pattern is a given and no options there but is a "16x8 wheel with a medium offset" what I am supposed to tell people when they ask me what size wheel I am looking for. Keep in mind I want to stay stock size and use my stock tires. I got the wheel information from a shop I stopped at here in Ft. Lauderdale. Unfortunately I know nothing about wheels and tires so I have no clue if this information is correct or not.

Your stock wheels are 16x7. Offset and backspacing are two sides of the same coin, but the stock wheels have about 4.5" backspace, i.e. the distance from the back edge of the rim to the back side of the hub. Offset refers to how far (if any) the hub is off-center from the middle of the rim. If the hub is dead-center in the middle of the rim's width, then it is a -0- offset rim for example. A negative offset will mean less backspace and set the wheel/tire farther out, like the deep rear rims on the back of the Starsky & Hutch Torino.:D A positive offset, like most front-drive cars have, will set the wheel/tire in closer to the body. The stock wheels have a slight positive offset, +12mm as I recall, and you definitely don't want any more than that or the tires will rub on the insides. Most wheel catalogs will show backspacing, again stock is 4.5", and you don't want any more but less is okay.
