Im basically ready to replace my OEM tires (P235/70-16) and Im looking for something slightly more oriented for paved/highway driving. My 2WD never sees off-road use and Im more interested in ride comfort and minimal road noise tires. Two tires on my list areGeneral Grabber HTS and the Continental CrossContact LX. Any suggestions? Thanks

Get a set of Michelins, your gonna pay more for them but IMO they are worth every penny. They last longer and ride smoother and quieter than just about anything out there.

Going through the same decission. Looking for rain, comfort, and quiet. Mine are 65/17

So far have found

Briggestone Dueler HL Alenza $160 retail

Michelin Latitude Toure $200 retail

+2 Michelin Latitude Tour's. Very quiet, smooth ride, great handling and wear.

Me being in Hawaii, and you in Florida, traction in snow shouldn't be an issue.

I would also tell you to go with the Michelins if the cost is not an issue. You will pay more up front but they will last longer too.

My OEM Michelins still have good tread left at 60K miles, but the tires (2003 date stamps) are getting old and I see cracks. I may go with the Latitude Tours, but yes they are expensive. Thanks for the advise. Yokohama makes a tire for the ST...anyone use those?

Not unusual to hear of owners getting easily over 80K on the Latitude Tour's.

Only complaint is they are pebble magnets, at 10K now with no visible wear.

I have used the yok ht/s on a escape. Good tire, IMO. Never got to see how long they last. Flood totaled.

I think Todd Z had them on a trac.

I was going to put them on my gen1. In my size rim, 18". They only came as a directional tread. I have an open gear rear. So the rears wear unevenly. So I didnt want to put uneven tread on the front on rotation. Cant change sides unless you flip the tire on the rims.

Placed my order yesterday...thanks all for the advice.
