Hi, I just received this hitch: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007VCL22/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

I'm having trouble with the plates that attach to the frame. I can see where they go but the top does not line up with the frame so I can't attach the bolt. It seems like if I loosen the bumper I can move it back and that will give me room so that the plate can sit on the frame better. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated... Thank you!

I have always had to loosen the bumper with some hitches, I also have had to replace the bolts and nuts too, the Bolt on hitches are not so bolt on...

Mine also required taking out a bumper bolt or two.

Not a big deal if you have a way to support the bumper while you are lining up the bolt holes, I used a couple of jack stands and some lumber.

i have the same hitch but i didnt have to move mine but i had also removed the bumper before and put it back on so i may not have put it back in the same spot

Thanks for the information. I'm going to try and tackle this now. I will loosen the bumper and go from there. I'll let you know the results.

On mine the bumper brackets slide between the frame and the hitch brackets so I had to take the bumper bolts off. I conned a friend into holding the bumper in place while I did it one at a time when I was putting on my body lift.

Well it's on! I did have to loosen the bumper so that the plates could align with the holes. The driver side plate was a pain to get the top bolt through. The passenger side was a breeze, it ligned up perfectly. After that a friend helped me hold up and attach the bar. It looks great! Thanks for your help everyone!

I had to slightly push the driver's side of the rear bumper out. I loosened it up , and used a 2x4 and a mallet and tapped it out until the bracket for the hitch fit. I have the same hitch . great piece
