Ok, here goes. The surgeon wants to open the bottom of my stump. Insert a 12.5mm(1/2") reamer into the bone canal and ream all the way to the top of my shin bone(tibia). Then take a special antibiotic cement coated rod and drive it in all the way. IV antibiotics for 8-10 weeks, then the rod comes out(hopefully). If this doesn't kill the infection, the option is to start removing parts of my leg. Its possible I could end up with an above the knee amputation. This is all OK with me, I know how things work here. I just want the problems to go away. So, it looks like the beginning of August that he's gonna start. I'll give you the really gory details in Louisville!! BC
