Ok, here goes. The surgeon wants to open the bottom of my stump. Insert a 12.5mm(1/2") reamer into the bone canal and ream all the way to the top of my shin bone(tibia). Then take a special antibiotic cement coated rod and drive it in all the way. IV antibiotics for 8-10 weeks, then the rod comes out(hopefully). If this doesn't kill the infection, the option is to start removing parts of my leg. Its possible I could end up with an above the knee amputation. This is all OK with me, I know how things work here. I just want the problems to go away. So, it looks like the beginning of August that he's gonna start. I'll give you the really gory details in Louisville!! BC :eek:nline:

Bob,

Sorry to hear man.... We will pray it goes away !!

Hope all goes well. Never heard of anything like this, but I've seen some strange things with internal infections.

If anybody uses this icon :worthless: they are sick disregard it.

bob,

best of luck and our prayers are with you.

how did your trip to nyc go. hope you didn't take that real nice trac. (one of the best tracs i have seen)

You're in my prayers and I know your positive spirit will continue to carry you through this real life "speed bump". Stay strong my brother.

yes Gary, the Trac went into the bowels of NYC and survived! Had to wash it when I got home, ya know, all that city crap all over it. As described above, sounds like its gonna be an interesting summer. I am just sick and tired of the problems that the bone infection causes. BC
