Yes, they did a job on #1 Alabama.



I can honestly say that I was suprised but also pleased. That now sets up Ohio State to be #1 in the BCS. As a boy who was born and raised in Ohio, I have always been a big fan of Ohio State football and feel that Coach Tressle is the best coach in Ohio State history including the late Woody Hayes and he was one of the greatest coaches in college football.



Congratulations to Coach Sperrier and the SC Gamecocks.

As a Georgia alum:



Spurrier always has been a Cock at heart. We've always known that.



Alabama is the only team in my recent memory and experiences that did not treat the #1 spot as their birthright. Hats off to a classy program and fans.



I'm sure yesterdays win will go a long way toward making S.C. fans some of the most obnoxious fans in the country. When Spurrier's example really sets in, South Carolina will be one of most nasty games to visit as an opponent. That's unfortunate since Columbia can be an enjoyable place to visit. As much as I dislike Alabama, I was ok with them being #1.



With a couple more wins and Spurrier at the helm, perhaps they can reach the upper echelon of rude and obnoxious fans like Miami, Ohio State, USC, Florida and Tennessee - worst fans in the country, IMO.



Consider me a bitter Georgia fan in the midst of a disappointing season, but that's my take.

I too am a Georgia grad and fan. I take umbrage with Hugh's comment as i have been held prisoner here in South Carolina for over 20 years and have found that South Carolina Gamecock fans are the absolute best. They have a lot to crow about these days and they should! They are the national champs in baseball and their football team just knocked off the #1 team in the land.



Now, Spurrier is another story. Being a Dawg Fan, he is pretty much the spawn of the devil, but that is about the only thing wrong with the 'Cocks. I pull for em every game but one!
